AMC is an American basic cable television channel that is the flagship property of AMC Networks. The channel's programming primarily consists of theatrically released films, along with a limited amount of original programming. AMC Throwback Flicks is a month-long movie event featuring movies from the 70's, 80's, and 90's up to the early 2000's.
Objective
Fictionally, AMC wanted a motion graphic promotional teaser to advertise a classic movie or past original AMC series to be shown on their network. This promo will inform viewers that the film or series will soon be added to the network's Throwback Flicks viewing schedule. This particular promo teaser had to consist only kinetic type (animated) and vector graphic elements to highlight 30 seconds or more of dialogue, sourcing appropriate dialogue or monologue from a movie or AMC original series of choice focusing on the 70's, 80's, 90's up to early 2000's (2010 & earlier) movies.

Process
For this fictitious AMC Kinetic Type Promo Teaser, I utilized the dramatic monologue from Disney's 2003 Finding Nemo, specifically focusing on the memorable lines, "I don't want to forget", spoken by Dory, the well-known and forgetful fish character. By employing 3D cameras, effects, and transitions, I created a dynamic and visually engaging experience that highlights and emphasizes Dory's spoken lines. The use of kinetic typography and graphic elements not only captures the essence of Dory's character but also adds depth and impact to her words, especially clownfish Marlin's response, making the promo teaser both captivating and memorable.
The initial steps in creating this promo teaser involved meticulously syncing the text with the audio and determining which words or phrases to emphasize. Additionally, transitions were planned based on pauses in the audio to enhance visual interest. Effects like sun rays, bubbles, and a green theme matching the movie's scenes were incorporated. Graphics corresponding to the words were added for emphasis, such as using eyes for "look," a house for "home," and the Sydney, Australia, cityscape to highlight Dory's effort to remember the address. To keep viewers engaged until the end, I created illustrations of Marlin and Dory swimming across the screen, culminating in the appearance of the movie's wordmark logo.
